  1. SEX . . .

    - Dull Old-School Republican Bobdole had his Viagra. Republican Party-Animal Rick Roach used methamphetamine, telling one person that it "enhance[d] his sexual experience".

    - Republican Rick Roach apparently liked them young. The porn sites he kept bookmarked on his office computer included images of 15- or 16-year-old girls. And who says drugs make you lazy? Republican Roach had goals! He aspired to be the next Larry Flynt, expressing desires to produce his own pornography.

    . . . DRUGS . . .

    - The previous district attorney, John Mann, who lost to Roach in 2000, has been showing off his street lingo. He states that in December, Republican Rick Roach appeared "wired" during a court hearing, fumbling through papers and echoing defense lawyers’ statements. Eventually the judge told him to "chill, dude."

    - Leslie Breeding, Roberts County attorney, also has street cred. She states that Republican Rick Roach was "on something" last month outside another courtroom. He was jumpy and couldn't carry on a coherent conversation. Leading to an invitation to substitute co-host "Hannity and Colmes."

    - At his twin sons' high school football games in Miami last fall, Republican Rick Roach was, according to The Pampa News, “the only person standing in the bleachers, yelling curse words at referees and opposing teams and making those around him uncomfortable.” And we all know that all obnoxious West Texas rednecks that stand in the bleachers, cuss at referees and opposing teams and make others uncomfortable are probably on drugs.

    - Several witnesses cited signs that Republican Rick Roach had been using drugs, including extreme mood swings, inability to sit still, unexplained absences from work, substantial weight loss and extreme paranoia. Leading to an invitation to substitute host "The O’Reilly Factor."

    - Republican Rick Roach checked out 2 pounds of meth from the DPS lab in Amarillo in November and claimed he was using it for K9 training. DPS officials said the drugs had not been returned. An unfair accusation, since he DID return some of it: in a used syringe that was found floating in an employee-only bathroom at the courthouse.

    - Witnesses reported Republican Rick Roach injected meth with insulin syringes at the office in the courthouse and an apartment in Pampa owned by the DA's office. Well, you see, he wasn’t allowed to smoke in the courthouse anymore and Republican godfather Ronald Reagan suggested that people try to find a substitute for tobacco when they’re trying to quit. Reagan ate jellybeans, but I suppose meth might work, too.

    - The Pampa News reports that, in the counties Republican Rick Roach serves - Gray, Roberts, Hemphill, Lipscomb and Wheeler – the majority of criminal prosecutions are related to drugs. Republican Rick Roach is a zealous prosecutor, prioritizing the cases, even over sexual assaults and other felonies, and demanding prison terms of up to 99 years for drug offenders. But you have to understand: THOSE users were Democrats.

    - Witnesses believe Republican Rick Roach was taking drugs from evidence or getting them from defendants or local suppliers. I’m guessing defendants other than the ones he put away for 99 years.

    . . . AND ROCK-N-ROLL!

    - Some offices have Casual Fridays; some bloggers catblog as the weekend arrives. Republican Rick Roach invented his own Happy Hour ritual, locking the main door at his courthouse office and requiring any visitor to knock before seeing the receptionist. Every Friday afternoon, he sent his staff home and stayed alone in the office, where he kept several loaded handguns.

    - Republican Rick Roach was "obsessed" with money seizures, including offering Rolex watches to Department of Public Safety troopers, trying to motivate them to make more money seizures. Well, it don’t mean a thing if you ain’t got the bling.

    - David Holmes, an assistant prosecutor under Republican Rick Roach between 2001 and 2003, said he never suspected drug use. He said Roach at times was friendly and talked about his Christianity - he even sang a few times in a gospel music band. He talked about his Christianity. He even sang a few times in a gospel music band. He talked about his Christianity. He even sang a few times in a gospel music band. He talked about his Christianity. He even sang a few times in a gospel music band. Kinda says it all, doesn’t it? We might as well shut the Truth Squad down, now.
