We learned this month from the wadded-pantastic response to that New Yorker cover that it's entirely possibly to be a part of the more thoughtful side of the political spectrum-- the side that supports education and believes in science, the side populated by college-educated, latte-sipping intellectual snobs-- and still possess a Panhandle Truth Squad troll's understanding of irony.

So I've decided to get all bent out of shape about this image, printed in the August issue of Texas Monthly.


See that? McCain, the white man, is portrayed as a player of baseball, the all-American sport. Obama, the black man, plays basketball. You know, inner city kids. Spike Lee. And is that the subtlest hint of buck teeth on the caricature of Obama?

Horrible. Simply horrible.
