There's a little more information relating to the pastor in North Carolina who kicked out church members for being Democrats. Seems this guy must be a real zealot, because there were only 400 members in the congregation in the first place. Nine were voted out, and 40 more left in protest, so they lost over 12% of the congregation over this, which would not be considered wise if the church were relying upon its membership for fundraising. Beyond that, this story suggests that Dems are taking Prodigal Son's advice and looking into the church's tax-exempt status. I'd strongly suspect this is only the tip of this story. Could it be this church is supported externally??? (cue the music)
