A national campaign, known as the Paper Chase has been initiated, with the goal of spreading news that is not generally printed in mass media, in a form that makes it available to ordinary folk who are likely not yet aware of the embarrassingly shabby state of our media (and who do not read blogs). This is a terrific, subversive technique. Not really anything new. What we're talking about, in essence, is pamphleteering, a method that was widely in use in the time prior to widespread distribution of newspapers. An original hero of the American revolution, Thomas Paine, was a well-known pamphleteer.
I would think that if we had 20-25 people distributing material around town, we could do a lot of good. If you PTS'ers like this, it could be used as a lead-in to developing and distributing a printed version of PTS (except it could not be so covert). There is some great guidance at the Paper Chase site, which you should read before distributing anything. But after that, I'd say go for it, and report back to PTS what you've distributed. My other suggestion would be to include the PTS link on the material distributed, but I'd sure welcome the input of others with respect to that suggestion.
If we are able to hold another PTS meetup, we should put this discussion on the agenda.
